In this performance Kazuko Hohki and The Frank Chickens explored in their customary direct, humorous and incisive way four aspects of Japanese eating; sensuality, presentation, ritual and rawness, ending up with fun!

The audience enjoyed sushi, tea ceremonies, beautifully prepared compositions and some karaoke.

Kazuko Hohki was born in Tokyo, and came to England in 1978. She founded the Japanese female pop performance group FRANK CHICKENS in 1982, which had an independent chart hit with WE ARE NINJA, and has released five albums and toured worldwide.

Her multimedia solo work includes; TOOTHLESS in 1998 and MY HUSBAND IS A SPACEMAN in 2001. Both of them were chosen for Time Out Critics Choice and have being touring UK, Europe, New York and Singapore. My Husband is A Spaceman was in the Decibel showcase and also in The British Council showcase at The Edinburgh Festival in 2003.
She is currently working on the new installation based
multimedia show Evidence For The Existence Of Borrowers collaborating with Andy Cox (ex Fine Young Cannibals and The Beats) and for Yellow Earth Theatre as a video artist creating animation and video work for their production of Lear’s Daughter.

She worked with Guillermo Gomez-Pena for the show EX-CENTRIS as part of LIVE CULTURE at Tate Modern in 2003, and made a documentary feature called THE GOOD WIFE OF TOKYO in 1993 for Channel 4 with Kim Longinotto -about Japanese contemporary women in Real life, featuring Frank Chickens and her mother. She also presented her own TV series KAZUKO’S KARAOKE KLUB for Channel 4 in 1989.

In 2004, she has just performed in The Festival Of Forsts at the Royal Opera House and the October Fest at BAC, finished writing a radio play for BBC's THE WIRE, and is going to perform at the Barbican on Duckie's production, C'EST VAUXHALL in December.

site for a programme of intimate salon evenings and larger scale performance events, based inside the unadulterated domestic surroundings of a family house.
