Why is this night different from all other nights?
Passover Rooms used the biblical Passover story to create a series of performance installations that explored elements of the story, symbols
and rituals of Passover. The audience were invited to reinact tasks in different rooms of the house, guided by performers who will brought into play
an examination of age old dilemmas surrounding notions of homeland, territory and conflict. The work included special magic illusions, a coconut pyramid, and a cup of warm milk and honey.

Marisa Carnesky produces work which touches the fantastic and the provocative, and uses a highly visual form to investigate notions of
cultural identity, sexuality and gender.
Artistic commissions include Warwick Arts Centre, Fierce, queerupnorth, NOW, Hayward Gallery, Duckie, ICA and Chisenhale Dance Space.
In 1999, she created Jewess Tattooess which explored the Jewish
taboo of tattooing. In 2001, The Girl From Nowhere, the first stage
of her large-scale multi-media event CarneskyÕs Ghost Train opened
in Slovenia.
Both shows have recently been performed as part of a week-long
residency at Riverside Studios in London.
