In the last of the Transgressive Bodies series, Mat Fraser presented
a
powerful indictment of society's relationship to the issues of disability,
played out during the strict rules of the dinner party.
What happens when a Disabled Person, in deep veined thrombosis
of denial to that Societal violation, attempts to pass the tests
of etiquette inherent in
the traditional Dinner Party?.......the microcosmic experiment quickly
breaks
down, exposing layers of pretence, fear, and then the phases of
desperation, ostracisation, confrontation, and finally naked violence.
Mat Fraser's The Dinner Party, turned from the facade of frivolity,
to a freak show of ferocious finality, in a terrifying evening of
exposure to modern
polite culture
Mat Fraser is a multi disciplined performer. His recent work includes
