'One to One' involved the live relay of sound from Sheila's house in
Wolverhampton to the domestic spaces of home in London. Shelia
hosted a party, serving home-made food to her guests in
Wolverhampton, while the audience in London were offered a
similar spectacle of a party and were able to eat and drink from a
buffet which was provided at home. The audience were
implicated in two separate intimate domestic spaces, which were
both displaced by the other. The 'performance' lasted
approximately one hour, and involved the live digital collection of
sounds and their transmission down a specially installed ISDN line in
both houses. Sheila Houlston is an established performance and
installation artist who has worked internationally since 1993. Projects
include; 1993 'Diskurs' Festival of live art, Giessan Germany, 1994
'Spring Exhibitionists' & 'Ripple Effect' ICA London, 1996 Ikon
Gallery Birmingham & 'Sound Matters' Live artSymposium UCE

home Salon provides the space for the informal presentation of
new, experimental and work-in-progress performance and live art
in the domestic context of home, an art space based inside a family
 house in Camberwell, London.
