Mrs Sarah and Mr Chris, hot from touring the provinces, bring you their
religious winter programme, which as per
usual involves a great deal
of social enlightenment and hammering home of traditional values.
This
season they will be tackling Christmas in all its glittering wonder;
loneliness,
tinsel, pornographic iconography, turkey, emotional upheaval, poverty,
stuffing, Mary and her bleeding heart, giblets and Christ Almighty.
They use
every trick in the book- Slide shows,tap dancing, minor
celebrities..... to
ensure none of the kiddies leave the house thinking that Christmas
means
anything but Family, Family, Family. But there are no surprises here.
But
then who says educational entertainment was supposed to be fun ? Sarah
Faulkner and Chris Kelly are a performance duo who have used the
conventions of cabaret, slap-stick and club performance to explore
a
variety of themes. They have presented their
work in
many different
contexts from the infamous Duckie Club in London, to the National
Review of Live Art in
Glasgow,2001.
